The Science Behind Our Shampoo Bars Our shampoo bars are carefully crafted using a blend of high-quality ingredients:
* Sodium cocoyl isethionate, cocamidapropyl Betaine, and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate: These gentle surfactants create a rich lather while effectively cleansing the hair. These are derived from coconut oil and fatty acids. Whilst I do my best to purchase palm free options, this has become increasing difficult, so instead I ensure these are RSPO (Responsibly sourced until the palm free is more easily available again)
* BTMS-25: This conditioning agent helps to detangle and soften the hair. Also know as behentrimonium Methosulfate (This is not a sulfate!), and cetearyl alcohol. Its derived from vegetable oils,
* Cetyl Alcohol: Aid is moisturising and is an emmoilient. Helping lock in moisture. This is derived from coconut, and or palm oil. We ensure we purchase RSPO cetyl alcohol.
* Hydrolyzed wheat, corn, and soy protein: These proteins provide nourishment and strength to the hair.
* Panthenol: Also known as Vitamin B5, this ingredient helps to hydrate and improve hair elasticity.
* Sodium lactate: Acts as a natural humectant, helping to retain moisture in the hair.
* Koalin clay: Gently exfoliates the scalp and absorbs excess oil. Any colour to the bar is from natural clays
* Preservative eco: Protects the bar from bacteria and mold. This is a blend of natural preservatives that is COSMOS and ECCERT certified
* Essential oils: Infuse the bar with delightful fragrance and potential hair benefits. All our essential oils are 100% pure, no synthetic ingredients.
How to Use a Solid Shampoo Bar
Using a solid shampoo bar might be different from what you’re used to, but it’s easy to get the hang of it.
* Wet your hair: Thoroughly wet your hair with warm water.
* Lather the bar: Rub the shampoo bar between your hands to create a lather. You can also lather the bar directly on your hair.
* Massage into scalp: Gently massage the lather into your scalp and hair.
* Rinse thoroughly: Rinse your hair with warm water until all the shampoo is removed.
Tip: For longer hair, you might need to repeat the process to ensure all your hair is covered. Common Concerns About Shampoo Bars Some people worry about the transition to solid shampoo, but our bars are PH balanced, meaning there is no transition period.
To preserve the life of your bar, allow it to dry fully inbetween uses. Personally, i just pop in on a soap dish to allow it to air fully.
