Can Natural Soap Really Benefit Your Skin?
In a world full of synthetic skincare products, natural soap stands out as a luxurious and beneficial choice for your skin. Handmade from scratch using the old process method. At he Rustic Scrub Shack we craft soaps with care, using only the finest natural ingredients to nourish and protect your skin. Here’s why choosing my cold process soap is one of the best decisions you can make for your skincare routine. With no harsh chemicals or preservatives that are comon skin irritants. Every handmade soap is different, each artisan has their very own formula, so if one soap doesnt suit you, maybe another will! We all spend hours and hours testing formulations to come up with ones we love. However, we know that every persons skin is different, so what is great for one may not be great for another.
1. Gentle Yet Effective Cleansing
Our cold process soaps (Not the salt soaps or tureric soap – those are a different blend of oils, but stil fantastic!) are made with a carefully selected blend of olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, shea butter, and castor oil. These ingredients work together to cleanse your skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Unlike commercial soaps that can leave your skin feeling dry and tight, our natural soaps maintain your skin’s hydration while effectively removing dirt and impurities. I use a fair amount of castor oil in my formula, it can make the bar a little softer than some others, but I love its properties, and how my skin feels after. I even use soap on my face – usually one of the unsceneted varieties is my preference
2. Rich in Skin-Loving Nutrients
Each ingredient in our soap is chosen for its unique benefits in my natural soap
- Olive Oil: Packed with antioxidants and vitamins, olive oil helps to soothe and moisturize the skin.
- Coconut Oil: Coconut oil also creates a rich, lather in soap
- Rice Bran Oil: Rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, rice bran oil supports skin elasticity and smoothness.
- Shea Butter: Ethically sourced from a women’s community in Ghana, shea butter is a powerhouse of hydration and lends a lovely creaminess to the soap
- Castor Oil: Provides deep moisturization and creates a luxurious lather that leaves your skin feeling silky.
3. Natural and Nourishing Milk Bases
Our soaps are crafted with either goat’s milk or coconut milk, both of which offer exceptional benefits for the skin: and ad d to a wonderful creamy lather:
- Goat’s Milk: High in lactic acid, goat’s milk gently exfoliates and brightens the skin
- Coconut Milk: Rich in vitamins and minerals,
4. Naturally Colored and Scented
We believe in keeping things as natural as possible, which is why our soaps are colored using natural clays and plant infusions. These natural plants and clays not only create beautiful bars of soap but also provide additional benefits, such as gentle exfolitation and cleansing
To scent our soaps, we use only pure essential oils, ensuring a luxurious, spa-like experience without synthetic fragrances or harmful chemicals.. So, unfortunatley we dont have any perfume dupes, or cake scents. Just natural, fresh, spa like scents.
5. Ideal for Sensitive Skin
Many commercial soaps contain harsh detergents and synthetic additives that can irritate sensitive skin. Our handmade soaps are free from any harsh artificial chemicals, making them a perfect choice for all skin types, including those prone to eczema, acne, or dryness.
Why Choose Handmade Cold Process Soap?
The cold process method preserves the natural glycerin produced during soap making, which is often removed in commercial soaps. Glycerin acts as a humectant, drawing moisture into the skin and keeping it hydrated. This makes cold process soap an incredibly nourishing and luxurious alternative to mass-produced options. Meaning; when you purchase hand made cold process soap, you know that the creator has spent time researching ingredients, testing out different formulas as we truly want to create a wonderful product. Often small sellers like my self (I am a 1 man band in making, labelling, marketing, admin and everything else involved) truly care about our customers. not mass produced, I create small batches of around 20 – 30 bars at a time, sometimes less. We do it for the love of doing it, and for the happy customers we have.
Switching for shower gels and commercial soap can not only benefit your skin, but the environment too. Many soap makers use minimal packaging. In the bid to reduce plastic waste my soaps have just a belly band label on them. No shrink wrap. The salt / Spa bars are wrapped in coffee filters so as to protect them from the huidity. Switching to soap bars can heavily reduce the plastic waste we prodice each year
