Sensitive skin can can be a plague. Finding skin products that dont irritate and cause flare ups, and figuring out what works for you. Whilst everyone is different, and everyones skin will react differently to products theres a few things you can do to help reduce the chance of irritation.

Patch Test New Products: Sensitive skin can show in a variety of ways; breakouts, burning, stinging, redness and tightness. Before covering yourself in a new product patch test it on a small area first. Leave it 24 hours to see if any reaction occurs before using it on larger areas.

Use Fragrance Free Products: Fragrances are a comon culprit of sensitivity. Not just fragrance oils, but also essential oils contain allergens. Opting for unscented and un coloured products can reduce the chace of irritation.

Avoid Hot Water: Who doesn’t love a hot shower or bath?! but this could be doing more harm than good. Hot water can strip the skin of natural oils making it more suseptible to damage and irritants. Instead using luke warm water is recomended

Be Gentle: You may be tempted to use scrubs and exfoliators if your skin is feeling a little dry and dull. Sensitive skin needs a little more of a gentle touch. Usin gentle cleansers withough harsh abrasives. Harsh scrubs can cause more irritation and inflammation to already peed off skin!

Watch Your Actives: Active ingredients such as retinoids and AHAs are wonderful for the skin. However, start slow if you want to add these to your skin care routine. These may cause more irritation and sensitivity

Always Wear Sun Protection: We may not get that much sun her in the UK but a sun screed with a minimum of SPF30 should be worn all year round. Harmful UV rays can trigger sensitivity and exacerbate existing skin conditions
